A ticket will be included in your registration packet. Time allotted in the program is from 2:00 to 5:00, but if you would like, you can spend the entire day there. It's within walking distance of the hotel. Yes, there is a pool at the hotel. At the banquet, Lee Iben will keep young and old guessing what's coming next. Beginning Auctioneers. John Roebuck will present a special program Saturday morning especially for auctioneers who are just getting started. Veterans can usually pick up some good ideas, too. Reunion. What better time to invite retired auctioneers in your area than for the Friday night Pork Barbecue. Howard Johnson and Howard Buckles will share some war stories from their 50 years as auctioneers. Auctioneers. It's best to learn from the best. John Roebuck and Mike Jones certainly fit that description. Entertainment. I've already mentioned Lee Iben, who will entertain Saturday night at the banquet. I've heard Ralph Palmer speak at least five times and I am looking forward to the next time - Saturday afternoon. Michael Cotter is not just a storyteller. He is a master storyteller. Not fiction. These are bits of his life. Vendors. Auctioneers need the people who supply the services we use and they need us in order for their business to thrive. Here is a chance to meet and talk with the people you may have corresponded with or talked with on the phone. Auxiliary. There are meetings for the spouses and they are sponsoring the Friday afternoon seminar on depression glass. Compare notes. Sometimes we are reluctant to talk about our business with the auctioneer who lives across town. But here is a chance to find out how other successful auctioneers conduct their business. Fellowship. Auctioneers are by nature friendly people. It's a time to relax and enjoy. Have I convinced you? Look for the registration form. Make your hotel reservations right away and ask for the Iowa Auctioneer's rate. Send in your registration and your 2000 dues, too. And please, do not book an auction for October 15, 16, or 17.
